Bankruptcy
If you are considering bankruptcy, the law requires that, prior to filing, you must receive counseling from a Department of Justice approved non-profit credit counseling agency. Approval to issue certificates in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code does not endorse or assure the quality of an Agency's services.
We are the only agency in Hawaii currently approved to provide face-to-face and telephone pre bankruptcy counseling. After this counseling, we will issue you a certificate, valid for 180 days after it is issued, that must be filed with your bankruptcy petition. We charge a nominal fee for this counseling from those who can afford it. Please contact one of our offices by phone or email for applications, materials and appointment scheduling.
